Liver Function Test
Overview
Liver function tests (LFTs or LFs), referred to as a hepatic panel, are groups of blood tests that provide information about the state of a patient's liver. These tests include prothrombin time (PT/INR), activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (aPTT), albumin, bilirubin (direct and indirect), and others.
Preparation(Before)
You may be instructed to fast overnight with only water permitted. Follow any instructions you are given. Inform the healthcare practitioner about all prescription and over-the-counter medications, herbal medications, vitamins and supplements you are taking
Normal range
The normal test results may vary depending on gender, age, health history, etc.
If you get abnormal test results, consult your doctor immediately. Your doctor may recommend other tests depending on your results.
