Overview

Vitamin B Complex Profile Test is done to detect Vitamin B deficiencies. It is prescribed when one has several symptoms related to the deficiency in Vitamin B. Vitamin B mainly consist of a variety of water-soluble vitamins. Their deficiency causes a wide array of disorders in the body. Deficiency in Vitamin B can cause beriberi associated with cardiovascular failures or dry beriberi associated with symptoms of peripheral neuropathy. It has been found that chronic alcoholics are more susceptible to Vitamin B deficiencies. Hence, this test helps in finding out every sort of Vitamin B deficiencies and in turn, helps the doctors to carry out the appropriate treatment.

Preparation(Before)

If you are having a vitamin B blood test, you may need to fast (not eat or drink) for several hours before the test.

Vitamin B urine testing may be ordered as a 24-hour urine sample test or a random urine test.
